Henry Cavill (born May 5, 1983 ) portrayed the
            Greek hero Theseus in the swords and sandals film
            Immortals, (2011). This was his best known role
            prior to being cast as Superman in 2013's Man of
            Steel release and the September, 2012, film The
            Cold Light of Day,a mystery/thriller in which Cavill
            will play Bruce Willis' son.

 Henry Cavill has been on the cusp of appearing
            as iconic chararcters in some of the most popular films
            of recent times, but in each case, was beat out by other
            actors. He was considered for the role of Cedric Diggory
            in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), but
            that role went to Robert Pattinson. Cavill was also a fan
            favorite to portray EdwardCullen in the uber-popular
            Twilight film series, but lost out, again, to
            Robert Pattinson. After that, Cavill was a contender for
            the lead role in the James Bond film, Casino
            Royale, but that role went to Daniel Craig.
            
            
Cavill's first big break as an actual character in a
            show, came in the Showtime television series The
            Tudors, in which he played Charles Brandon, 1st Duke
            of Suffolk. This show went on to be nominated for a
            Golden Globe, and gave Henry Cavill his first big
            break.
            
            
Henry Cavill's first big lead role came in
            Immortals (2011), a big budget mythology-based
            fantasy movie in which his character, Theseus, battles

 Co-starring with action-film star Bruce Willis
            in The Cold Light of Day (2012), will give Cavill
            more exposure to American audiences prior to the 2013
            release of Zach Snyder's Man of Steel, where Cavill will
            portray the dual character of Clark Kent/Superman. With
            Cavill as the Last Son of Krypton, the three most
            prominent superhero films of 2011-2013, will feature
            British actors as the most iconic of American
            superheroes. Christian Bale played Bruce Wayne/Batman in
            the Dark Knight Series, while Andrew Garfield took on the
