The X-Men comic franchise began in 1963 with the publication of X-Men #1, featuring the teen-aged mutants Cyclops, Beast, Angel, Iceman, and Marvel Girl, mentored by the wheelchair-bound Professor X. The series produced original stories though issue #66 (published in March of 1970), but, with the publication of X-Men #67 (December, 1970), these comic books featured reprinted stories from past X-Men comics. For instance, X-Men #67 contained the story first printed in X-Men #12, and did not feature any new or original stories.
This "X-Men Reprint Era" continued on until the first new story in the regular X-Men series with X-Men #94 in August of 1975. X-Men #94 featured the new X-Men team first introduced in Giant-Sized X-Men #1, which came out in May, 1975. That large and historic issue brought together a new team of X-Men assembled by Cyclops and Professor X to rescue the old team. These new X-Men included Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, Banshee, Thunderbird, and Sunfire, who continued on as the main X-Men team in X-Men #94, and beyond.
Collected here is a list of those X-Men reprint issues, alongside the original issue the story came from, the name of the reprint cover artist, the original cover artist, and notes on differences in the reprint and original covers.
