Lawrence Welk- (March 11, 1903 May 17, 1992)
Lawrence Welk is best known as a famous bandleader, accordionist, and television celebrity. The musical style he and his band played on television, on the radio, and in live concert appearances became known as "champagne music."
Welk was born in Stasburg, North Dakota.
