Patti Solis Doyle

(b. 1965)

Patti Solis Doyle (b. 1965) is a professional political consultant and, until February 10, 2008, was the campaign manager for Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign. On June 16, 2008, Doyle joined the campaign of Hillary Clinton's primary election foe, Senator Barack Obama, where she became the campaign chief of staff to Joe Biden. Following the 2008 Obama/Biden campaign, Patti Solis Doyle joined the law firm of Utrecht & Phillips as a non-lawyer partner specializing in governmental and public relations. She functions as a lobbyist in this role. Doyle also travels the country as a public speaker on the roles of women, and of hispanic women in American politics and government.

Doyle has the distinction of being the first Hispanic presidential campaign manager, and also the first one to lose their position following a campaign downturn.

Born Patti Solis, her parents immigrated illegally from Mexico, though she grew up in the Chicago area and attended Northwestern University in Chicago.

She began working in politics on Richard M. Daley's campaign for mayor of Chicago. Solis later moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, and became Hillary Rodham Clinton's assistant.

She was executive director of HillPac and ran Clinton's campaign for the United States Senate election in New York, 2000. She is married to Jim Doyle, a Harvard Law School graduate.
